John,

There are two things you can do with Unsniff.

1) Automate it by scripting (Scripting Guide)
2) Write plugins to dissect your own protocols - the main strength is that it is quicker and safer using the Unsniff API than Wireshark. Also you get to keep your plugin private compared to the GPLv2 bound license. (Developer Guide)

The two guides are available at
www.unleashnetworks.com/devzone/unsniff/...ces.html#scriptguide
Scroll down to the bottom.

There is an API developers pack which integrates with Visual Studio 6 and Visual Studio 2005. This contains all the headers/libs and Wizards to write your own plugins. I removed it from the downloads page because it doesnt support VS2008 or VS2010 yet. You can get it from here
www.unleashnetworks.com/lib/setup_unsniff_API_R_1_0_1_1157.msi

I would like to help you get started with it. Can you tell me a bit about what your goal is ?

Thanks,
Vivek R

I was interested in seeing what plugins are available. I recall that there was a several and offered a wide range of choices. I would really like to see the list again. Can the link be restored and the plugins made available to the Unsniff community?

HI John,

There is a one plugin available from the downloads page. The TCP Congestion Analyzer.

There are lots of script plugins available from the scripting page - you have things like IAX2 analyzer, Printing busy servers, etc etc. You can get them from here :
unleashnetworks.com/devzone/unsniff/script-library.html

There used to be a VOIP Q0S plugin and a GSM GPRS PDP Analyzer plugin - removed both from the downloads page because a) of limited interest b) they are beta quality.

A big release of Unsniff is long overdue - many commits have already happened towards that goal. The main change in recent times is integration with Trisul - this gives Unsniff remote analysis capabilities.

Thanks,
