Trisul 2.0 puts major power into your hands with the a new feature we are called Real Time Stabbers. The way you stab a thermometer into the oven to check on the food.

With stabbers - you can get upto the 3 second view of network activity. The technology stack for this feature is WebSockets + Redis pub/sub. In our tests we found Google Chrome to be the best in handling this so we recommend Chrome for Trisul 2.0.


There are also other huge features such as a totally reworked stats engine focusing on tighter memory usage.

A new feature called Flow Taggers allow you to mark interesting flows as they arrive to help with instant long term queries. Examples are : Flows from China/Ukraine - flows that generated an alert, flows that involved hosts on a blacklist (require the badfellas plugin), and so forth.


We are still updating the docs and more posts/ screencasts will follow explaining how to use each of these features in detail.
