TOPIC: Trisul dpkg Install Failure

Trisul dpkg Install Failure 12 years 1 month ago #632

When installing in Ubuntu using the instruction for dpkg, Trisul will not start. Gets error:
trisul: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Is this a bug?

Any work around?

Thanks,

-M

Hi Michael,

Are you running Ubuntu 10.04 ?

The packages are designed for the LTS release.

Ahh; no, I'm running 11.10. Any way to make that work?

You could try to create a soft link to the newer openssl on 11.10 like so :

ln -s /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.x /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8

There may be other dependencies for the web interface. So this route is likely to be a bit painful.

Normally I would just make a new DEB for you for 11.10, but the 12.04 LTS is just 2 months away!

Any chance you could find a 10.04 box or run it in a VM ?

An update :

It turns out we already have some internal machines on 11.10.

We are creating 11.10 32-bit packages now, should be done in a couple of hours. I will let you know once it is available for download.

Sorry, haven't had a change to try. Nice to have 32bit dpk, but I'm using 64bit.
